GCU American Red Cross Donation
GCU recently learned that the Beaver, PA area chapter of the American Red Cross was in need of a new Biomed Vehicle. The vehicle is used at blood drives throughout the area. Their current vehicle was no longer road worthy and the Red Cross had a real concern in transporting equipment and blood donations to and from blood drives in the Western PA area. In keeping with the GCU tagline of “investing in the goodness of community,” GCU stepped up to make a $10,000 donation towards the purchase of a new vehicle. This donation, along with an anonymous donation from another foundation, will allow the Red Cross to purchase a new Biomed vehicle. On Tuesday, June 23, 2020 GCU President George N. Juba (left) presented the donation to two Western Pennsylvania Red Cross representatives, Biomed District Manager Tony Baker and Regional Philanthropy Officer Christine Paiano.
