2025 Byzantine Parish Coordinator Role Description
The BPC is the liaison between the parish and the GCU Fraternal Department. This program is available to Byzantine Parishes located under the jurisdiction of the Byzantine Catholic Archeparchy of Pittsburgh or Byzantine Catholic Eparchies of Parma, Passaic and Phoenix.
They receive an annual $500 grant in the form of a debit card, to host parish social events.
The parish coordinator is responsible for completing request and financial reporting information for the GCU Parish Matching Funds program if their parish is doing any type of fundraisers. In 2025 parishes will have an additional $3,000 available to them through this program.
A simple online reporting form must be completed at the conclusion of each parish social event in order to qualify for funding in 2026. The BPC should submit a photo or two of each event along with a brief one or two sentence description on the form for publication in the GCU Magazine and on the GCU website.
This position is voluntary and is a great way for you to assist your parish with additional funding.
One additional requirement to continue parish participation in the program is planning a GCU Marketing visit at the parish once every two years. The marketing presentation will be paid for by GCU Home Office.
This BPC works in conjunction with the Constellation Coordinator and Corporate Community Events Coordinators if one is assigned to their area. GCU hopes that all BPCs assist with regional event advertising and awareness of GCU activities near their parish.
