GCU Lodge 8344 member Emily Wahal married Tyler Smith on Saturday, November 11, 2023.

The wedding took place at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Cathedral in Munhall, PA. The brides uncle Rev. Stephen Wahal concelebrated the Divine Liturgy and marriage ceremony along with Very Rev. Andrew Deskevich, rector of the Cathedral.

The couple met when they both began working at Chick-fil-A at the Waterfront-Munhall in 2012. They became good friends and look forward to beginning their life together as a married couple.

Emily is the daughter of Barbara & Basil Wahal of Munhall. She is currently the Catering Director at the same Chick-fil-A where the couple met.

Tyler is the son of Pamela Smith of Baldwin, PA. Tyler was laid off from his position at BNY Mellon the week after their wedding. He has multiple job offers and is looking to chose the best option for them moving forward.

The wedding party included Emily’s siblings Zack & Maria, sister-in-law Athena, niece Ella and Tyler’s brother Aiden Harris.

The couple is planning a honeymoon in Europe in the Spring of 2024.
