412 Food Rescue
Created on the belief that good food belongs to people, not landfills, the 412 Food Rescue app makes saving food and feeding people easy! Volunteers transport surplus foods donated by grocery stores and restaurants to a designated nonprofit serving neighbors in need. Learn more at 412foodrescue.org/take-action/volunteer/
The mission? To protect and enhance the lives of all domestic animals and to promote kindness and respect for all living creatures. Volunteers are an integral part of operations and help to ensure continued success. Individuals must be age 16 or older to volunteer on their own, or as young as 10 if volunteering in a limited capacity with a parent or legal guardian. Greater Pittsburgh Community Food bank
Volunteers are the heart of this organization’s mission to feed people in need and play an important role in ensuring everyone in the community has enough to eat. From food sorting and building healthy food boxes for seniors to harvesting at The Orchard, the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank is seeking your help. The mission of Special Olympics PA is to provide year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Through volunteers, the organization provides these special athletes continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, feel joy, and share experiences with their families, other athletes, and the community. Center for Hope
The Center for Hope is a faith-based organization dedicated to providing food and clothing, as well as educational and career services to underserved residents of Ambridge, Pennsylvania. Services include a food pantry, weekly community dinners, youth programs, and more. High school and college student projects available.
