Youth Group Fundraiser
In April the Holy Ghost McKees Rocks, PA Youth group engaged in another fundraiser to support attendance at next year’s ByzanTEEN Rally. The ByzanTEEN Rally is a gathering of youth from throughout the United States held every two years for a short large group experience on a college campus environment. This allows our small communities to experience a larger gathering of youth for both spiritual enrichment and social activities. Next year’s rally will be in California with significant travel costs.

The NWPRL consistently has supported the youth of the parish attending the ByzanTEEN Rally. This year the youth group sold Sarris Candy as part of their non-profit sales program.
We successfully raised over $750.00 which the GCU Home Office doubled through the Matching Funds program. Attendance at the rally is a highly anticipated event for the group and having the GCU support this important event is much appreciated by all involved.

Pirohi Making
Holy Ghost McKees Rocks pirohi have long been recognized as among the best in the Pittsburgh area. Throughout the Great Fast the team was hard at work pinching pirohi prior to Pascha. Gratitude is expressed to all who participated in this project. The Northwest Pittsburgh Regional Lodge was pleased to sponsor the fund raiser utilizing GCU Parish Matching Funds to increase the bottom line the church received.

2nd Quarter Meeting and Food Drive
The NWPRL held its second quarter meeting and a food drive on Sunday, May 5. Holy Ghost McKees Rocks hosted the meeting in the school gym with Slavjane providing the sound system for meeting support. The lodge is happy to support the Interfaith Food Bank which serves about 85 families with distributions twice a month. The “bring a friend” event was organized by Randy Baden & Gary Sorenson from the Home Office. Randy supplied multiple give-a-ways for the promotion of recruiting new members.
