Annual Reunion Dinner Resumes
Lodge members and guests shared a catered buffet in fellowship at the Annual Reunion Dinner held on Sunday, October 14, 2018. The event, held in the parish social hall at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Clinton Township, MI, was suspended for one year in order to schedule District 11’s celebration of GCU’s 125th anniversary last October.
The catered buffet dinner followed the 11 AM Divine Liturgy with a Panachida for the deceased members of Lodge 860.
Vice President George Nagrant welcomed attendees during dinner. He reported on activities of the lodge over the past year and announced several upcoming events.
In addition to awarding of several Target gift cards from the GCU Home Office, a 50/50 drawing was held. Several small promotional items were also provided and given out as favors.
Happy Halloween for Youth of Parish
Children in the ECF (Eastern Christian Formation) program at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Clinton Township, Michigan, enjoyed a festive Halloween celebration on Sunday, October 28th, with a donation from Lodge 860.
Immediately following the 11 AM Liturgy, the children, along with their family members and parishioners, gathered in the parish social hall for a pizza luncheon.
Then the children were each presented in their costume. Afterwards, they played various themed games and decorated individual pumpkins. And of course, the children received bags of Halloween treats and small toys.
Finally, costume prizes were awarded in several categories and then all the costumed children assembled for a group photo.
The event was organized and led by lodge member and parish ECF Director, Suzanne Swanney and her husband, Jim Swanney.
