Casino Bus Trip
GCU Lodge 77 held a Casino Bus Trip Fundraiser on Sunday, November 4, 2018 to Presque Isle Casino in Erie, PA. Fun was had by all 40+ participants as they played games and held raffles both to and from the casino. Complimentary breakfast pastries and goody bags were provided by the lodge for each person which also included snacks for the ride home. There were some winners at the casino, but overall everyone won with a beautiful day of weather for travel and lots of fun and laughter! The funds raised will make a difference in many lives around the community this holiday season.

St. Nicholas Day Celebration
St. Nicholas Day was extra special this year at St. Nicholas Church with the support of Lodge 77.

Following the Divine Liturgy on Sunday, December 9, everyone proceeded to the church hall for a wonderful dinner with Christmas music and caroling. St. Nicholas greeted guests and passed out golden coins while we sang the “Hymn to St. Nicholas.” The children then had a chance to each visit with St. Nicholas receiving a GCU drawstring bag full of goodies and their choice of a toy. It was a blessing to have almost 30 children this year. Lodge 77 Vice President Bruce Skibo did a wonderful portrayal of St. Nicholas.

Thanks to the proceeds from the casino bus trip, the lodge made donations to several community programs this Christmas. The programs included: St. Elizabeth (a Catholic Charities supplier of food and shelter in Lorain), Wags 4 Kids (providing service animals for disabled children) and the Blessing House (a children’s crisis center). Lodge 77 is thankful to St. Nicholas church for providing us with a home base, and the support of the GCU for the Matching Funds and Fraternal Grants that help make these donations and events possible.
