Memorial Day Flag Ceremony
A Flag Raising Ceremony was sponsored by Lodge 442 on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at our host church, Infant Jesus of Prague Byzantine Catholic Church. Flags were blessed by Rev Mykhaylo Farynets, pastor. Lodge members and parishioners gathered on the south lawn for a flag raising and short ceremony to commemorate Memorial Day, following Liturgy. Lodge 252 of St Nicholas Church, Youngstown, was invited as Lodge 442 guests. Lodge 252 President Theresa Swindler participated in the ceremony which included a history of Memorial Day from the American Civil War to the present day. A light lunch was served following the ceremony.

Byzantine Family Day at Kennywood Park
At 8:30 AM on Thursday, July 26, 2018, a large group of eager lodge members, parishioners and friends from the Youngstown area gathered in the parking lot of Infant Jesus of Prague Church for a tailgate party, before leaving for the Annual Byzantine Family Day at Kennywood Park. The tailgate featured beverages and snacks for the journey, as well as GCU brochures and giveaways. A full bus plus several cars made the annual trip which is always a highlight of the summer. Special thanks to the donor who sponsored the bus.

Parish Picnic
The annual Parish Family Picnic was held on Wednesday evening, August 22, 2018 in the picnic pavilion on the church grounds of Infant Jesus of Prague Byzantine Catholic Church. The event was co-sponsored by the Lodge 442, the Byzantine Social Club and the Altar & Rosary Society. Traditional picnic and ethnic foods were brought to share. Games, music, socializing and a fund raiser, along with great picnic weather made for a evening enjoyed by all.
