Lodge 316 August News
On June 30 and July 1 & 2, Thomas the Train came to Phillipsburg, NJ. There were train rides, a petting zoo, children's activities and even a trip to a deserted mine where you could search for gems. These activities are an annual sell out and parking is at a premium.
Thanks to a member of SS. Peter & Paul Church who owns a parking lot near the train rides Lodge 316 was able to use the parking for the event as a Matching Funds project. Partnering with the parishioners of SS. Peter & Paul Church, parking for the three days was offered to the attendees. Volunteers gave many hours to this successful project! We want to thank all who volunteered their time to raise funds for the church as well as the GCU for this great program!
Earlier in June, a Helping Hands Day took place on the church grounds. It seemed as though every weekend was rainy, postponing the work until June 23. It was a good work day. Members and parishioners mowed, pruned, trimmed, planted and mulched. The smaller that usual workforce worked hard and accomplished a lot in a short amount of time. Thanks to all the workers and the GCU for making this day possible!
