Lodge 182 September News
Easter Egg Hunt
An Easter Egg Hunt was held at St. Mary Byzantine Church hall on Palm Sunday for the parish. Children were instructed to find 6 eggs a piece in a specific color and a prize was given for each. Donuts, cookies, fruit, coffee, hot chocolate and juice were served to the children and their families. Each child was asked to bring a donation of an item to fill Easter baskets for the children residing at the Catherine McAuley House for homeless women and children located in Plymouth, PA. Many thanks to the GCU Home Office, the ECF teachers and members of Lodge 182 for helping to make this event a success.
Easter Basket Donations
Lodge 182 collected donations of toys and other articles to be placed in Easter baskets for the children residing at the Catherine McAuley House. Baskets were made up by the members of Lodge 182 for each child, specific to their ages and delivered so that each child had a basket to open on Easter morning. The Catherine McAuley House is a sponsored work of the Sisters of Mercy and is a support system, lifeline and bridge to self-reliance for homeless women and their families.
A Day at Knoebels Park
Members of Lodge 182 and their families enjoyed a day out at the Annual GCU Byzantine Family Day at Knoebels Amusement Park on Sunday, June 2, 2019. The food was delicious, the rides were thrilling and the company was unbeatable. The weather held out this year for most of the day and a great time was had by all.
