Lodge 164 March News
Lodge 164 celebrated Founders’ Day on Sunday, February 16. Eighteen members and 3 guests enjoyed a hot buffet brunch of scrambled eggs, sausage links, hash browns, OJ, coffee & Tea, donuts and fresh fruit. After the meal, GCU programs & benefits were explained and Easter cards were passed around and signed for parish and lodge shut-ins.
Meatless Soup & Sandwich Luncheon
Starting the first Wednesday of Lent, after 11 AM Presanctified Liturgy, Lodge 164 held a meatless luncheon of soup & sandwich. Six or seven lodge members cooked and prepared the food. About 20-25 parishioners enjoyed the luncheon.
Donations were made and extra soup was sold at Wednesday evening Bingo. February 26 and March 4h were event dates with the March 11 date being a Bingo sale of haluski. Total donations and sales amounted to $350.00, which will be matched by GCU to benefit the Sisters of St. Basil the Great at Mt. St. Macrina in Uniontown, PA. Due to the Coronavirus threat, further Lenten services and events were suspended until May.
