Lodge Assists with Community Meal
GCU Lodge 10 was happy to prepare and pack over 250 meals for the Manna Community Meal on Tuesday, November 24, 2020. The Manna Community Meal has been an ongoing benefactor of the lodge for the past 10 years.
Lodge 10 usually donates and serves the meal at the House of Prayer Lutheran Church in Aliquippa to 75 - 100 people. This year with the pandemic, everything had to be done differently. The lodge members ordered food from Beyond Parsley and then packaged the individual meals for distribution. Manna has had to change their operation from indoor dining to outdoor drive up distribution. The lodge was asked to prepare and package 250 meals and was able to accomplish the task in one hour with the help of Kathy Kapaldo, Mary Elizabeth Olack, former GCU Board of Director Martha Seech, Laura Seech, Tim Seech, Timmy Seech and District 15 President Elizabeth Harbist.
The Manna Community Meal organization has also been a benefactor of the GCU's Food Pantry donations during these pandemic times. Pastor Mike and his crew are eternally thankful for those donations that helped to purchase additional food items and packaging for this important community charitable organization.
