District 15 June News

June 13, 2019

The District 15 Annual Bunco event was a HUGE success. There were more than 120 tickets sold! Everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch thanks to Seven Oaks' new Executive Chef, Art Mangie; refreshing libations thanks to John Lord; and excellent service thanks to Ellen Policastro and her crew. Then it was time for Bunco! In addition to leis for Bunco and gift cards for door prizes, participants tried their luck at Chinese Auction, 50-50, Lottery and Basket of Cheer auctions.
District 15 officers, especially Kathy Kapaldo, Elizabeth Harbist, and Laura Seech, put in many hours planning the fundraiser. We are very grateful to the Home Office for their help with this project: Basil Wahal and Chris Chamberlain for printing; Executive Vice-President/COO Scott Schuetz and Pam Dietrich for ticket sales; and Lisa Anderson for coordinating the Home Office Chinese Auction items. Former District 15 Senior Awards recipients, Pam Kapaldo and Katy Harbist, along with Mike Spanik, Irene Miller and Mary Elizabeth Olack were invaluable helpers in setting up the ball room. We couldn’t have done it without you!

We send a sincere Thank You to everyone who participated. With the GCU Matching Funds, a donation of $8,100.00 was presented to the Christopher Juba Rehabilitation Fund. Chris and his parents, Sue and George, send their gratitude to everyone who helped with the project.
