Lodge 81 38th Annual Carpatho-Rusyn Celebration

St. John the Baptist Church at 201 E. Main Street in Uniontown, PA, will hold its annual ethnic festival in the Parish Social Hall from 12 NOON to 6 PM. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 9 AM. Ethnic foods such as holubki, pirohi, halushki, kolbasi & sauerkraut, soup, potato pancakes, pagach, baked goods and much more will be available for purchase. The event will feature folk-dancing by Slavjane Folk Ensemble @ 3 PM, a Rusyn folk music group performing at 12:30 & 4 PM and a speaker/or video presentation at 1 PM & 4 PM on Rusyn culture and customs. (Program subject to change.) The Carpatho-Rusyn Society will have a display of artifacts, authentic costumes, photographs, documents and will assist in genealogical questions. There will be pysanky, iconography, wood burning, bobbin lace making, folk-art demonstrations, music, church tours, children’s activities (including egg art, cookie decorating, coloring/craft projects, and storytelling), crafts, parish cookbooks, raffles, videos and much more.
