In an effort to capture information on how all of our members volunteer their time within their communities, GCU began an online program allowing members to record their volunteer time each month. As a thank you to those members that submit their volunteer hours, a drawing for Amazon gift cards is held. In addition each quarter, all the members that have submitted volunteering information are placed in a drawing for two $100 donations to be made in their name to an organization they volunteer with by GCU. The fourth quarter 2020 drawing winners were: John & Ruth Mochel of Florida and Michael Homanko of Pennsylvania.
The Mochels chose the local St. Vincent dePaul Food Pantry as the recipient of their $100 donation. Mr. Homanko chose the Miss Greater Hazleton Scholarship Organization as his charity.
Unfortunately, due to COVID at the time, Michael Homanko was unable to do an official check presentation. His GCU Volunteer Submission program quarterly award donation from the GCU, was given to the Miss Greater Hazleton Scholarship Organization. Funds were used towards community events like the Hazle Township Trail of Treats, "Egg My Yard" Fundraiser, scholarships and more.
To learn more and to record your volunteer hours please visit the GCU website www.GCUusa.com and click on the Member Benefit tab at the top of the home page.
